Transoma Medical Secures $13 Million To Launch

ROSEVILLE, MN -- Transoma Medical Inc. announced the receipt of $13 million in new funding to ready the company for launch a line of medical devices.

The company makes implantable devices that monitor people who are subject to infrequent fainting spells.  Called Sleuth, the product line is currently being evaluated for approval by the FDA.  It is part of a larger platform of products that will ultimately treat a variety of cardiovascular diseases.

Investors in the round were Canaan Partners, Affinity Capital Management and Polaris Venture Partners.
